Old Gum Tree Vineyard
Located across Tesla Road from the Crown Block and De Mayo vineyards, the Old Gum Tree Vineyard is named for the massive eucalyptus tree marking the entrance to the Darcie Kent Estate Winery. The vineyard slope starts gradually as it rises north from Tesla Road and then it turns quite steep above the winery. Its southern effacement and well-drained soils make Old Gum Tree an ideal location for growing Bordeaux varietals. The vineyard was recently replanted to Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 30, but a small block of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc remain.
